The parquet puzzle comes in squares with tape holding the pieces together.  The squares were glued down to a new plywood subfloor with a waiting time of 2 days for the glue to dry.  The new steps that were installed are solid white oak to replace the old heart pine treads for matching to the new predominantly white oak floor.  The tape was ripped off the parquet pieces and the floor was with precision sanded even, with 3 coats of commercial grade polyurethane applied.
